Central Coast Highway - West Gosford
The Central Coast Highway Upgrade at West Gosford featured the full reconfiguration of the Manns Road and Brisbane Waters Drive offset intersections into a single signalised intersection at the gateway to the Central Coast Region. The project involved the upgrade and construction of intersections and approaches including utility relocations, retaining walls, bridges, road widening and property adjustments under high volume traffic flows. The site was a major access route to the Central Coast region, with more than 70,000 vehicles passing through the site each day. Formation of a new underpass link road required the construction of a three staged bridge on the Central Coast Highway and a two staged bridge on the adjacent Debenham Road. It was also a critical services and utilities hub, with required relocations involving Railcorp, Ausgrid power, high pressure gas trunk mains, sewer and water trunk mains, and Telstra, Visionstream and Optus fibre optic mains and associated distribution networks.
