Project Description

The Townsville Ring Road (Section 4) project involved the construction of an 11.5 kilometre new alignment at the western end of the Townsville Ring Road from Shaw Road to the Bruce Highway north of Mount Low Parkway. The project included the new four lane road link, new bridges over Saunders and Stony Creeks and new pedestrian and cycling facilities. It also offered a boost for local industry, requiring a high percentage of locally sourced materials and services, injecting vital funds into the local economy. The new section keeps freight moving quickly to the Port of Townsville.
