Bruce Highway upgrade: Caloundra Road to Sunshine Motorway
BRUCE HIGHWAY, MERIDIAN PLAINS QLD 4551
The Fulton Hogan Seymour Whyte Joint Venture (FHSW JV) has been appointed to finalise the design and construct the Bruce Highway Upgrade – Caloundra Road to Sunshine Motorway on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. The Bruce Highway Upgrade: Caloundra Road to Sunshine Motorway project involves an upgrade of the Bruce Highway between Caloundra Road and the Sunshine Motorway to six lanes, including major upgrades to both interchanges and the delivery of a service road for local traffic on the western side of the highway between Steve Irwin Way and Tanawha Tourist Drive. The Bruce Highway is a road of national significance for both passenger and freight travel in Australia. The upgrade is among Queensland's highest priority road projects. The upgrade is needed to deliver critical safety benefits to motorists, improve efficiency and reduce traffic congestion, and ensure the highway can meet the strategic transport needs of the Sunshine Coast region well into the future.
