CAITLIN TOLONE, PROJECT ENGINEER
“Seymour Whyte management gave me confidence that I was capable to take on such a complex role.”
Caitlin has worked with Seymour Whyte since completing her undergraduate placement in 2010. Since then, she has been promoted twice, holding the role of Project Engineer on the Central Coast Highway Upgrade at West Gosford and then the Pacific Highway and Wyong Road Intersection Upgrade at Tuggerah.
Caitlin’s primary responsibilities include construction staging and program planning, monthly forecast reporting and cost control, and managing utility subcontractors and earthworks, drainage and structures crews.
A major scope of work Caitlin recently completed was the intersection staging at Gosford where two existing intersections transitioned into one signalised intersection. She managed all utilities relocations including undergrounding more than 5km of Ausgrid and RailCorp power lines, and relocating 8km of telecommunications infrastructure, 7km of new water, sewer main and gas main installations and 10km of stormwater drainage along with several overhead 66kV Ausgrid & RailCorp modifications. Caitlin worked closely with designers, asset owners, subcontractors, the client and the project team to complete the required activities without impacting local communities or causing major delays. Thanks to Caitlin’s efforts, the project achieved practical completion 7 months’ early.
