Avoca Drive is the key route linking the south eastern beaches with the commercial areas of Erina and Gosford on the NSW Central Coast . The road, which carries over 26,500 vehicle per day, serves as an important route for commuters travelling to the Gosford CBD or connecting to the F3 Freeway at West Gosford.
In summary the project involved:
- Widening Avoca Drive to four lanes between Bayside Drive and Sun Valley
- Extending Lakewood Avenue to Koolang Road and forming a signalised intersection with Avoca Drive
- Shared use pedestrian/cycleway along the eastern side of Avoca Drive and a pedestrian path along the western side of Avoca Drive
- Relocation of utilities on both sides of the road as well as installation of new utilities
- Road pavement reconstruction and overlay works
- Signage, road furniture and delineation
- Earthworks
- Landscaping works
- Traffic signal controlled intersections
- Access and side roads
- Retaining structures
- Drainage works
- Property adjustments
