Seymour Whyte has again featured in this year’s BRW Top 50 Great Places to Work survey.
Seymour Whyte was the only construction company to make it in to this years list, with professional services and IT firms making up almost half of the line up.
Gerd Wimberger, General Manager, says “Last year’s ranking of 26th was, in itself, a fantastic result, however this year we ranked even better at 17th. This is a great outcome, with the most pleasing and gratifying aspect being that Seymour Whyte was the only construction company to rate in the top 50.”
Compared with Seymour Whyte’s 180 staff, the majority of companies on the list have less than 100 staff. Only eight had recorded having more that Seymour Whyte, highlighting the challenges associate with maintaining a strong culture as businesses expand.
“Public recognition and good news stories like this achievement are major milestones and provide valuable benchmarks for all of us to reflect and build upon as we continue to grow and diversify.” says Wimberger.
“As a long standing employee of Seymour Whyte, I am particularly mindful of the way in which the company is growing, and the potential impacts this can have on our culture.”
The survey measured employee responses against the indicators of Credibility, Respect, Fairness, Pride and Camaraderie. The Great Place to Work Institute of Australia defines a Great Place to Work as one where the employee
· trusts the people they work for
· has pride in what they do, and
· enjoy the people they work with.
