Mac Drysdale - Chairman
As Chairman of the Board since 2007, Mac has played a key role in the strategy development and growth of Seymour Whyte.
Mac is a highly respected executive with a strong history as a Director and Chairman. Since 1991, Mac has served on the boards of Country Road Australia Ltd (Chairman), Country Road U.S.A Ltd, Mitre 10 Ltd, International Wool Secretariat (Chairman), Australian Wool Research and Promotion Organisation (Chairman), Wool International and Australian Wool Corporation (Chairman).
With a long family history of grazing in Western Queensland, Mac continues to operate an organic grazing property in the Augathella region.

John Seymour - Director
John, along with Garry Whyte, began the Seymour Whyte group of companies, in 1987. Having built the Company from scratch, since 2003, John has sat on the board as a Founding Director and a major shareholder of the Company.
With over 40 years in civil engineering John’s understanding of the industry, his experience with major clients and his engineering knowledge is invaluable to the strategic planning of Seymour Whyte today.
John is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers and has played an active role in industry bodies such as the Civil Constructors Federation (past President of the Queensland branch) and was inducted in to the QUT Constructors’ Hall of Fame on 2006.

Don Mackay - Director
Bringing his knowledge and experience in executive leadership, Don joined the Seymour Whyte Board in 2008.
Don has a successful track record with his role as CEO and Managing Director of Australian Agricultural Company Limited, where he played a key role in the business growth, international expansion and capital raising for the company. As General Manager of Elders Limited (NSW), Don influenced the transformation of the business into a high performing industry leader.
Don is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and in 2001 was awarded the Centenary Medal by the Prime Minister of Australia for Distinguished Service to Primary Industry

John Ready - Director
John was appointed as a Director of the company in November 2010.
John has over 40 years experience in civil engineering contracting including roles in project management, senior level corporate management and as a business owner. John first worked with Seymour Whyte in 2002 as the JV project manager for the award winning Brisbane Inner Northern Busway (Stage 5) project.
John has a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) and is a member of the Institution of Engineers.

Susan Johnston - Director
Susan joined the board at the beginning of the 2012 financial year. With over 20 years in senior management, and 10 years as a company director, Susan has a track record for guiding organisations through change.
As CEO of the Queensland Resources Council for two years, Susan led the transformation of Queensland’s peak minerals and energy industry body. A member of various industry advisory and funding bodies, Susan has extensive experience in policy advisory roles in the energy and resource sector. Her proven safety improvement, external engagement and general management credentials are a valuable addition to the board.
Susan has a strong background in safety, including as Head of Safety and Sustainable Development (Australia) at Anglo American.
Susan has degrees in Arts and Law from the University of Queensland.

Brian Riggall - Managing Director
Brian was appointed as Managing Director of the company in November 2010.
Brian joined Seymour Whyte as the Chief Executive Officer in 2003. Over the past seven years he has implemented the strategic direction of the Company and guided its rapid growth and development through his vision and drive. Brian has extended Seymour Whyte’s involvement and capabilities in joint venture arrangements and the various relational and collaborative forms of project delivery.
A qualified civil engineer, Brian gained valuable industry experience across a wide range of design and construction projects working in Baulderstone Hornibrook’s building and civil engineering businesses. Before joining Seymour Whyte, Brian held the senior management positions of Director of New South Wales / ACT Construction Division and then Director Special Projects for Baulderstone Hornibrook.
Brian is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers. He completed a Master of Business Administration (Executive) in 2008 and is a Board member of the Civil Contractors Federation of Queensland where he actively pursues his vision of creating a fair and sustainable industry benefiting all contractors and customers.

Garry Whyte - Alternate Director
With a strong background in the civil engineering industry, Garry joined with John Seymour in 1987 to begin the Seymour Whyte group.
Garry has over 40 years of experience working across the Eastern seaboard of Australia on a wide range of civil construction projects for some of Australia’s leading construction companies. His understanding of the industry from the intricate details of project delivery, through to market trends and opportunities provides valuable input in the strategic vision of the Company.
